International Educator

I teach photographic arts and biological sciences, most frequently in the context of experiential education adventure travel programs. In the past, I have taught for Broadreach ft. Lesley University, MEI International Academy, and Smithsonian Student Travel.

Typically the students are 12-20 years of age (a wonderful, yet challenging age) and group sizes range in size from 12 - 24 students. This work has brought me to teach young adults in 16 countries (and 45 cities) on 5 continents.

I believe that photography, film and and writing have the power to persuade and motivate. My favorite programs marry photographic arts with conservation efforts where students are able to learn to better understand and communicate the value of our wild spaces which is an powerful component in protecting these spaces for their future.

Prior to working with students abroad, I taught photographic arts at North Island College, Vancouver College of Art & Design, Markham Varley Art Gallery, McKay Art Gallery, Blyth Academy and Guest Lectured at Ryerson University in their Masters of Fine Arts of Documentary Media program.
